Barbara's obituary
Barbara graduated from William Penn High School, York, Pennsylvania, and shortly thereafter moved to Northern Indiana. She worked at Goshen General Hospital for many years as a Unit Secretary and was a Medical Receptionist for large medical clinic. She was also an active member of St. James’ Episcopal Church, Goshen, Indiana. She loved to dance and sing, she became a member of the Bristol Opera House, becoming involved in various performances, as well as participating as a longtime member of various church choirs. She was passionate about fitness, including many years as an aerobics instructor.
After raising three wonderful children, sons Michael and Scott and daughter Michelle, she moved to Des Moines, WA, a suburb of Seattle. She married the love of her life, Sterling “Hank” Snow in 1987, and they created a life filled with family and laughter.
Barbara worked 25+ years as an office manager and medical assistant with cardiologist Kent Kreisman, M.D., at Highline Hospital in Burien, WA. She retired in 2009.
She was an active member in Choral Sounds Northwest, singing and dancing in many of their performances. She also taught water aerobics at Mount Rainier High School pool, Des Moines, Washington. She traveled to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, many trips with family and friends. After purchasing a winter home in Palm Desert California, she was active with Sun City Singers in Palm Desert.
She is survived by her husband, Sterling E. (Hank) Snow, brother, Robert Reimard of Sheridan, MT, sister, Nancy Brennan of Goshen, IN, and sister Sarah Donovan of Douglas, MI. Also surviving are her children; Michael J. Garvin, Williamsburg, VA, J. Scott Garvin, LaGrange, IN, and Michelle Racz, Puyallup, WA, stepchildren Allison Roberts, Bellingham, WA, Jeffrey Snow, Redmond, WA, and Lisa Henderson, Camano Island, WA, as well as many beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at St Philomena Catholic Church, Des Moines, WA on December 7, 2021 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
