Dear Michael & Trina, sending my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Barbara and I worked together for almost 12 years at BIA. She was always my biggest supporter, mentor and friend. She was such a beautiful, kind soul and I feel so blessed to have known her. I will never forget her infectious laugh and welcoming smile.

My Beautiful Sister Barbara,
You will be remembered in every beat of my heart, every touch of the wind as it passes by my body I will know you are still very present in my soul. I know this to be true because you are part of me, you are part of each of our siblings. Every one of my milestone childhood memories included you in them. Like the day of your Birthday party when I sat on your Birthday cake by accident I think I was 7 years old. You never yelled at me, instead you helped me clean off the cake from my dress. Then again when I was a teenager and Keahaulani wanted to fight with me on the streets of Makaha. I think I must have been no more then 12 years old. I ran home for safety.. I ran home to you ! You fiercly protected me like a Mother to her child. When we lost Mom at such a young age...You instantly became our surrogate Mom, ( you where a child yourself), you prepared meals for us, teaching us right from wrong, we followed you like little ducklings. You became our world our safe Haven our Home. You will always be very much present in our life. My adult children Jasmine, Pauline, Edward, and granddaugter Kea'lani will know what an amazing Auntie Barbara you have been. I am the Mother I am today because of your Love and self sacrifices you have made for us your entire life was dedicated to your family. To the most selfless, generous, hard working women our world will know. You love will vibrate eternally in our hearts. May you rest in peace we will be together one day.
Me Ke'Aloha
Your Babe sister Pua'nani and Ohana

My most sincere condolences. I worked with Barbara to put on NAHB classes, and she was always a bright spot in my day. She was such an advocate for education, and that passion and positivity shone through in every interaction I had with her. I am keeping you all in my thoughts.

Barbara was a huge fan of Simpson Strong-Tie going back to the days at Honolulu Wood Treating, and later when she would always invite us to help with training students in the Construction Training Center at BIA. She was a joy to work with, including the times when we held our workshops at the BIA, and she was always a friend who would cheer you up and make you feel welcome, and go out of her way to make sure everything was in order. Condolences to the family. -- Your friends at Simpson Strong-Tie

I was so sorry to hear about Barbara's passing. She always had a warm smile, a can-do attitude and was pivotal in starting and leading the BIA Education program from the start to the success enjoys today. The program has helped many students over the past 18 years as well as the revenue generated by all the Grants we received, and instructors Barabara hired and worked with. See will be missed.
