Barbara "Bambi" Monty, a beloved mother, sister, and accomplished Girl Scout leader, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023. Born on December 9, 1946, Barbara was known for her bubbly, warm, and genuine personality. Despite being born Barbara, she preferred to be addressed by her nickname, Bambi.

Barbara leaves behind her son, Scott Butler, who was the apple of her eye. Her love for Scott underscored her belief in putting others first, a principle she upheld throughout her life. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Monty, and her brother, Robert Durgin. Barbara's familial bonds were a testimony to her selflessness— a trait that resonated deeply with those who knew her.

A proud attendee of the Girl Scouts organization, Barbara's leadership resonated with many young women. Her dedication and passion for service were reflective of her belief in inclusivity and caring for everyone, a cause she held close to her heart.

Among her many joys in life, Barbara had a taste for life's finer delicacies. Her favorites included lobster and Chinese food, treats she thoroughly enjoyed and often shared with family and friends.
