Barbara's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara Michel (nee Robertson),  affectionately known as Bobbi, on March 11, 2024. Born on March 2, 1940, to Jean Casabonne and Orville Robertson, Barbara was a beacon of kindness and generosity. Although she was predeceased by her parents, her life was filled with love from her cherished family.

Barbara's loving husband of 64 years, Joel Michel, survives her, along with her wonderful progeny. Barbara was the proud mother to Cheri Simpson (Mark), Lisa Johannes (Rick), Julie Lopez (Will), and David Michel (John). Barbara was also blessed with several grandchildren including Michael Johannes, Ava Johannes, Amanda Krenzelok (Ian), Gabriela Lopez, Marek Seablom-Michel, and Kannon Seablom-Michel, Ashley Vitarelli (Reid), Ami Simpson Fuller (Cody), Cole Simpson and four great grandchildren. Her surviving sister, Cheryl Casciani (John) and her three children, also continue to remember her fondly.

Barbara was a graduate of South San Francisco High School in 1958, and shortly after, she embarked on a career at Zellerbach Paper Company. She was a dedicated worker, but her greatest accomplishment and joy came from raising her four children. Her kindness and patience made her an exceptional mother, and her legacy of love continues in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Barbara had a soft spot for Italian Bolognese and enjoyed a good Screwdriver. She found relaxation and enjoyment in watching her favorite TV Shows, including Dancing With The Stars. Her favorite recreational activity was simply relaxing, often with her loved ones around her.

She had a great love for travel, with Italy being her favorite vacation spot. Barbara was particularly passionate about supporting the ASPCA, reflecting her general kindness and compassion. Her favorite color, blue and white, often revealed her soft, gentle, and calm nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "American Cancer Society," a cause dear to Barbara's heart. Donations can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of….

Barbara's life was defined by kindness and generosity. Her gentle soul and calm demeanor will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones.
