Barbara's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Jean McWilliams, who passed away on May 17th, 2024 at the age of 82.
Born on October 4th, 1941 in Northfield, Minn, where she also grew up. In her twenties, Barbara moved to California. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Charles W. McWilliams, and a devoted mother to her children.
Barbara lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for cooking and baking and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She loved to play golf, reading mystery novels and taking care of her beloved dogs.
Barbara was a kind and generous soul who loved God. She felt blessed in so many ways with her health and her family. Her love and compassion extended to those around her. She will be remembered for her playfulness, support and nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her children Michele, Melissa and Chuck who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Nicki and step-granddaughter, Nicole.
At Barbara’s request no services will be held. Please take a moment to share memories and pictures on this website. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimers Association at Act.alz.org.
“Oh God, I thank you for this day of life. For eyes to see the sky, for ears to hear the birds, for feet to walk amidst the trees. For hands to pick the flowers from the earth, for a sense of smell to breathe in the sweet perfumes of nature. For a mind to think about and appreciate the magic of everyday miracles. And for a spirit to swell in joy at Your mighty presence everywhere.”
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
