Oh Barb!
How could this happen to you? Ever since Michelle called to tell me the bad news, you have been on my mind. How very brave you were to go on that harrowing river trip down the Green River through Desolation/Gray Canyons! We were friends before the trip, and I remember you were worried you might be disqualified from going due to your health. Your parents decided it would be best for you to live your life with excitement and meaning. (Besides that, you were old enough to make those decisions for yourself.) I am so glad you took that challenge! Even though you became sick on the trip, you never once wanted any attention towards that. I LOVED that big old green beast you drove! You needed a pillow to see over the windshield! What a dear, darling, sweet lady you were. I am so sorry you suffered, but I believe you never made much complaint. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you. Much love. Wait for me, please. I hope to be with you in paradise if I am deemed as worthy as you. Time to rest now, sweet friend.
Obviously, you had a wonderful man who adored you. My sympathy goes out to him. This is sad stuff for those who are left behind.

While we didn’t get to see you both as often as we would have liked, your love for each other was ever present. The time we did get to spend together will always be remembered fondly. Barbara was a kind and gentle person who was quick to smile and make you feel loved. We will miss her greatly and Sam our door is always open. Love Mike and Theresa

... just occurred to me, 20 years exactly, Barbara died 20 years, to the day, I was signed off on my master's thesis. Kind of funny how the number 20, intervals of 20, keep coming up -

Barbara was a beautiful, talented person inside and out. I will always have fond memories of our time working together at the AV Press. Her spirit lives on my heart. Thank you Sam for sharing these wonderful photos of my friend. May God bless you with joyful thoughts and keep you at peace.

Talented, charming, gracious, what a doll she was. Barbi was the girl every guy wants to marry. She's the one no guy ever really gets over. Condolences for your loss, my old friend. A girl like Barbara never came along in life for me. So, I have no real clue what you're going through. Hope I never do.

I began my career lucky to have been Barbara's understudy. The extent of her skill palette was only exceeded by her God given talent, and her uncanny instinct for structure and direction. She knew advertising. A true professional, Barbara got paid to do art. She did advertising art as God would have asked of her. Her work was breathtaking. Racking up the awards, poor Barbara was overwhelmed, rewarded for her effort, jealousy and petty retribution by self-important supervisors and crony, two-faced colleagues. Never from me. I admired Barbara. I owe her everything.
