Background

Barbara was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the tail end of the pandemic. There was not much we could do to slow or stop the progression of the disease. As the disease progresses, individuals gradually lose their ability to perform everyday tasks, communicate effectively, and recognize familiar faces. This decline is often slow and insidious, spanning several years.
The phrase "The Long Goodbye" reflects the prolonged and heartbreaking nature of the disease, as families and loved ones witness the gradual disappearance of the person they once knew. We hope that in time, researchers will be able to find away to reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s demention.
