Barbara Ann Gopen, 68, of North Egremont, passed away on May 14, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones after a short 3 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Barbara was born on November 21, 1951 to John and Mildred Agostinelli in Amityville, NY. Barbara is preceded by her parents and sister, Clara Spataro. She is survived by life partner Philip Schumacher; her daughter Dana Morgan; and her son Marc Cirenza, nephew Thomas DAiuto, German shepard-Chow Tank and fluffy coon cat Nikki.

Barbara graduated from Massapequa High School in NY and shortly after became a licensed cosmetologist. Barbara’s occupations included hair stylist, nursery school teacher, airlines special service agent, licensed massage therapist, garage sale and antiquing guru, dog walker, cat sitter, nanny, and a Super host for vacation rentals.
Everybody who met Barbara a.k.a. Barbie, or Barb felt her warm, kind, nurturing soul. She had a healing touch, spoke with a calming tone, and had natural way of healing all problems. Barbie would effortlessly go from flannels to formal wear.
Barbara loved to travel near and far. She would bopped down to Long Island to visit her son and close friends, jet to Denver to hang out with daughter and son in law, then scoot over to Arizona to visit with her sister and have a plate of homemade Italian cheesecake. She spent a decade perfecting her beautiful residence in the Berkshires. Barbara and life partner Philip hosted many visitors to their air bnb Riversong Suite. Barbara loved to garden, cook, throw parties, and host family gatherings. One of her fervent passions was exploring the local antique shops looking for treasures or breaking for tag sales. Date nights were often at The Old Mill for rack of lamb or hitting up Swiss Hutte for a Manhattan and Barbs drink of choice, root beer.
