Loving mother, Barbara Gary, passed away on July 21, 2023 after she suffered with a Heart Attack. Barbara was 77 and was surrounded by many loving family members when she passed.

Barbara, born to George Sonia and April Sonia on April 12, 1946 in Napoleon ville, Louisiana. A member of the church from a very young age, Barbara participated in Choir at St. John Baptist Church alongside her family members. After moving to Napoleon Ville. Barbara attended Napoleon Ville Primary School. While in school, Barbara realized her passion for Singing and dancing when she joined the Choir at school. She attended the Mass Choir and developed her skills as a Pianist. After graduation, Barbara went on to be a Nurse and taking care of others .

She was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and was an integral part of the church, Faith temple Church of God In Christ.  A loyal servant to God, Barbara spent many of her hours dedicating her life to Singing and doing what is right. Now that Barbara has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Barbara’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

Barbara joins her Mother and Father in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including Daughters ; Shana Williams and Demarionne Sonia. Sons; Kevin Sonia and Alvin Sonia. Grandchildren; Asia’nay Meyers, Markia Meyers, Devin Sonia,Devante Sonia and Kayla Sonia . 

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
