Barbara Ann “Barbie” Jones Butler was born in DeWitt on April 15, 1950. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 10, 2024. Barbie went to heaven naturally and while resting, due to complications from heart and lung disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. and Donna Reed Jones, as well as by her sisters, Yolonda Sue and Patricia Kay and her nephew Dustin Charles.

She is survived by her only child, Tricia Butler Hopper (Chris), her three grandchildren, Benjamin Reed, Bree Catherine, Blair Christin and her 30-year love & partner, Larry Strickland. She was so beloved by all who knew her. You may have met her in school, working at her dad’s businesses, as a DMS cheer or band mom, from Brewsky’s/The East Wing or from her years working at Lennox. No matter how you came to know her, you most assuredly adored her. Barbie was the best friend, mom and best NeNe that any person, child or grandchildren could ever have!

There will be a reception celebrating Barbie’s life at Boyd Farmhouse Inn in DeWitt, on Saturday, June 29 from 2-4 p.m. If you loved her and she loved you too, please stop by and pay your respects. If you are so inclined to send something, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Westside Younglife. Checks payable to “Young Life” with “Barbie Butler WLR” in memo.
