Barbara Lewellyn Bolt was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 24, 1956 to Gordon Edwin and Carolyn Bates Bolt. She went to be with Jesus on March 19, 2024 after a long, sometimes brutal, and valiant battle with cancer.

Barbara was passionate about her cats and enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes, which she called, "the elixir of life!"

Her parents and her cousin, Ruth Martin, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her siblings, John (Raquel) Bolt of Maryland, and Jane (Keith) Betteridge of Indiana, and a half sister, Rebecca (Clay) Smith of Texas, as well as five nieces and two nephews. She also leaves behind cousins Stephen Crist, Paul Crist, Susan Harmon, and Bonnie Ausfeld.
