I am so sorry to hear of Balazs passing. He loved his 2 sons dearly and spoke of them often. My husband and I met him in 1982 on a flight he was crewing on. We became immediate friends and have remained so via many texts and letters over the years. We are fortunate to have a large painting in our home that Balaz made for us titled A Falconeer Afternoon t

Dear Dominik, my condolences in your father's passing, I was in shock today, when notified by Tammy.
I truly admired him for his attitude and positive thinking, he was a man of many talents, I consider myself fortunate to have known him, I am so glad he could visit me in Portugal this past summer, we had great times, he cooked one of his favorite chicken recepies with the Hungarian paprika, everyone loved it, on his last e-mail to me about two weeks ago he was so excited that he had the plans approved to start construction on the land he purchased from me. He was a man of great faith and always spoke so proudly of you. I will miss him.

Balazs and Bob first met many years ago at a political rally in Raleigh. They soon discovered our homes were only one mile apart and we became good friends. We grew to appreciate his artistic gifts, his patriotism, and his wit. An example of his wit came when Bob required 24/7 homecare after a motorcycle accident. He came over from 10 - noon on Tuesdays to allow Trish time to buy groceries, etc. He told his friends that was his time to 'sleep with Bob' (which was how they both spent most of that time together). We are thankful that Balazs decided to believe and trust in our Lord Jesus for we know that we will someday meet again. Until then, we will miss him.

Dear Dominik,
Kenny and I will miss Balasz. Kenny talked to him two weeks ago. We have beautiful paintings he did for our family the week he spent with us at our lake house. He showed me how to make authentic Hungarian food. He liked to cook as well. He talked about you boys all of the time. He was so proud of both of you! He shared lots of beautiful stories of you guys growing up. He had a great life and he will be remembered as a great artist and a great friend.
With love,
Ken and Kendal Fiorini

Dear Dominik, sending our condolences to you in this sad time of your father's - the great Balazs's - passing. We were broken to learn the shocking news yesterday. I loved Balazs so much and I had him on my mind many times through the past years...We are relatives (my mom and Balazs are first cousins) so I 'knew' him for very long, but the first time we personally met was only in ~2000, when he, Donna and Sandor were staying at our place in Budapest, for around 2 weeks' time. So amazing people, really, that memories of togetherness I cherish to this day! (Then, a few years later, my parents visited you in Raleigh, and had a week-long stay there.) For the last time I met Balazs at Gyuri's place, in late 2018. We had great chats and embraced each other. We talked that we would repeat the meeting each time he visits Hungary from that time on. Alas it wasn't to be, we somehow missed the oportunity in the summer of 2021 when he flew over for the last time. But he DID read my Christmas greeting message, as I learned from Messenger time stamp - just hours before of his passing. For this I'll be grateful to God from here to eternity. Also, I will forever hold Balazs in the bottom of my heart, for his sparkling liveliness, his talents, his wholeheartedness, his creation power, his resolute will and his PASSION for life! I admire the great achivements he made through his life - up until the very end! He was a true man, a big heart, a great Hungarian, a brave American, a naturally born artist, who brought about a huge, compelling oeuvre. His life was so a colorful journey, full of adventures and love - I would be less of a man had I not known him! My prayers are with you Dominik and I pray for your great father, Balazs, may his precious soul rest in peace! He will be inconsolably missed. :'( I love you!

Balázs was my first cousin: his mother and my father were brethren. His death is a serious loss to his Hungarian relatives, first of all to Kati, Juli, Jutka and me, as well as to our families. I send our deepest sympathies to Dominik.

Balazs and I were flight attendants in Honolulu together. I had many trips with him and was always delighted to see his name on the crew list. He was full of adventure and had such flare. A terrific human being!

For the past 3-4 years, Balazs was part of my inner circle. The memories of hanging out at The Cottage, at Paul’s, at my house, at the apartment, the meals and drinks shared, and the conversation and laughter are treasured. Always teased for my “Funny F’ing Laugh” even as I teased his impishness. I wake up every morning to one of his pieces and can’t help but smile. We had so much fun picking out mats and frame, entertaining the store staff as much as the other customers and above all ourselves! His books, art, and the lives touched are a legacy that few achieve. His perseverance and dogged commitment to joy and optimism in the face of adversity few equal. I looked forward to the follow up book that he had begun to preserve myriad stories and memories of events, people, and a grand life lived. I hold hope that in years to come the world over comes to know of this amazing soul beyond our imagination. To be his friend was to be blessed. Balazs, I am grateful the pain has ended and that you are eternally free. Now you are Angel forevermore. God’s own imp, bringing joy and laughter to the heavens and beyond.

So sorry for you loss. Met Balazs just about 2 years ago. Had some wonderful meals, good laughs and conversations. He spoke fondly about his two sons and the joy they brought him. It brings us peace to know Balazs knew Jesus as his personal Savior and is now experiencing all of his glory . He is now free from the pains and sorrows of this world. Sincerely, The Boss Family.

I am so sorry to hear this news! I met Balazs at the gym several years ago, and from the first time I spoke with him, I knew he was different. I read his book and was deeply moved by how he survived such deplorable circumstances and his communist homeland. We only spoke a few times in the last several years, but I saw him at a community event a couple of years back where I learned he had cancer. He was such a kind man with such passion and creativity. My heart hurts for his lovely wife. Balazs will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry that I didn't get to talk to you before you left this earth. My painting hangs above my bed and I think of you often. You truly captured my true ballerina self. Love you forever Balazs.
