Baban's obituary

Baban V. Baliga, 73, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026. He was born in Bombay, India on November 9, 1952 to Vasudev and Shankuntala Baliga. He attended The Indian Insitute of Technology Madras and the University of Iowa where he obtained a Bachelor's and Master's in mechanical engineering. He had a career that lasted forty years as a mechanical engineer working for General Electric, Howell Instruments, and Pratt & Whitney. He had a keen interest in financial investments, the stock market, western films, and (of course) national and international politics. He is survived by his wife Asha, sister Shobha, daughter Meghana, son Nikhil, and grandchildren Matteo and Mira. Baban will be remembered for his humor, breadth of knowledge, and generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
