“Ayvie”'s obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the departure of our beloved Ayva "Ayvie" Thomas, who was taken from us too soon on April 26, 2025. Born on January 17, 2008, Ayvie graced our lives with her vivacious spirit and radiant personality for a brief but incredibly impactful 17 years.
A graduate of middle school in 2021, Ayvie was a source of delight and encouragement to her peers. Her dedication to academia was matched by her commitment to faith. Ayvie found solace and community as an attendee at the first Baptist church in West Memphis, where her love for those around her was palpable.
When it came to her hobbies and interests, Ayvie had an enduring love for simple pleasures and integral activities. She found joy in feasting on her favorite foods, burgers, fries, and hot chips, often accompanying them with her preferred drink, Orange Fanta. Ayvie was an ardent player of Roblox, and her love for performances shone through her fondness for Strawberry Shortcake. Her favorite TV show was 'Girl from nowhere', and her most cherished films included 'Coraline', 'Eli', and 'Equestria Girls'.
Ayvie's love for music was exemplified by her fondness for Skeeter Davis. Her recreational activities demonstrated a love for both rest and service, often spending her time sleeping or helping others. She enjoyed exercising through Majorette and Cheer, and her favorite local spot was McDonald's, where she would often escape for a well-deserved treat.
As an individual, Ayvie was a beacon of helpfulness, passion, niceness, and silliness. Her favorite color, purple, reflected her vibrant and warm personality. Ayvie taught us one of life's most valuable lessons - it's alright to struggle. She upheld this philosophy by celebrating her accomplishments, including her first back handspring, a testament to her strength, perseverance, and spirit.
A champion for mental health, Ayvie spread kindness and generosity wherever she went. Her favourite vacation spot was Missouri, where she undoubtedly left a mark with her radiant personality.
Ayvie's legacy will always be remembered as one of kindness and generosity. As we remember her, we hold onto the best of what she offered us - her laughter, her love, her passion, and her commitment. While we miss her dearly, we know her spirit will always live among us.
Rest in peace, dear Ayvie. Your memory will forever be a treasure in our hearts.
