Karl and Family,

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping you find comfort and healing in the support of friends and family during this incredibly difficult time. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I'm willing to help in any way.

When Great Trees Fall
Maya Angelou
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.
When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.
When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.
Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
 fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
 of
dark, cold
caves.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.
My heart breaks for you. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Karl, Kjerstin and Ingrid, my heart broke upon the news of Axel's passing. There are no words to describe just how sorry I am. My family will keep you in our prayers. Thinking of you all...The Reardons.
We are beyond sorry to hear of your loss. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help your family during this difficult time.
What a beautiful boy and beautiful family. I have been thinking of you often and will continue to hold you and your family in my heart.
Karl, Kjerstin and Ingrid, I was so sad to hear this today. My heart is going out to you, and I am sending you love. I looked back at the photo of Axel that you texted me a year ago. I am sorry that I never met your sweet boy. Love, Abby Davis
Continuous prayers are with you at this difficult time. Axel was an amazing little man and we were blessed to have him in Johnathon and Kennedy's wedding and a big part of their special day. May the wonderful memories help you in the days ahead. Please know we are here for you and anything you need. Love, Angie and Roger Kruger
