Avril was my 1st/2nd grade teacher at MLC, I’m 27 now, so 20ish years ago at this point? She was always one of my favorite teachers I ever had there and I remember every time I ran into her after leaving being so excited to see her. Same with my parents. I would always get “I just ran into Avril!” Texts throughout the years even after I left Portland. My older sister always had her, and whenever the school is brought up, so is Avril. She is integral to our memories of that place. Just the most wonderful caring human. May her memory be a blessing which I know it is to so many of us so lucky enough to have to sat on the floor of her class throughout the years.
