“Earlier this month, we held our first-ever Lokai Virtual Run For Hope to inspire our circle to stay connected during these difficult times and to raise money for our charity partners. We are proud to share the story of Team Avery today, the team with the largest number of registrants for the event.

Team Avery is in honor of Avery Raymond Burkhart who passed away after a car accident in 2018. One of Avery's most prized possessions was his Lokai collection, and he shared our message of finding balance with his infectious laugh and smile.

Avery once wrote he wanted "to make an impact on someone's life," and his family and friends keep his purpose alive by making a positive impact on others in honor of Avery. Team Avery completed the Lokai Run by starting at the church where Avery's funeral was held, to the site of the car accident, and back to the church to complete the race. They continue to live Avery's purpose of helping others as a way to share hope through life's lows.

We are honored to be a part of Team Avery's mission of sharing Avery's legacy with our Lokai Circle, and we cannot wait to see how Team Avery continues to make a positive impact with the lives they impact. #LiveLokai #LokaiRunforHope”

Virtual Disney Marathon slide show made in 2021 showcasing Magical Disney Memories, (2005-2015)

To honor and celebrate Avery turning 21 and me turning 45, I signed up to run in the Disney Marathon.  Covid had other plans and shifted the event from in person onsite at Disney to Virtual.

I chose to run the marathon on the Western Maryland Railtrail on our actual birthdays, 3/15/2021.

My amazing family and friends came together to support me throughout the 26.2 mile journey and planned an amazing Disney style finish line party with Donuts, Pizza, Sparklers and this amazing slideshow.

Blessed beyond belief to have these amazing memories that we will cherish forever.
