Austin's obituary

Austin Grosam unexpectedly passed away in Burnsville, MN on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 20. He was born on September 13, 2001. He was raised in the Mankato area where he spent the majority of his time with his family and friends.

Austin enjoyed sports throughout his life. In junior and senior high school, he played basketball, football, and ran track. His favorite sports team was the Dallas Cowboys. He attended school in Janesville, MN and St. Clair, MN where he made many friends. After high school, he discovered a passion for sales, where he thrived. He had recently relocated to Burnsville, MN to further his career in sales. He worked hard, and was a natural salesman. Austin treasured spending time with family. He had a contagious smile and laugh. He had a radiant light that reflected on those around him. When it came to his friends, he didn’t hesitate to listen or offer advice. He always took the time to be supportive. He had your back. If you were in a room with Austin you could always expect to be laughing. He was quick witted and used sarcasm to connect with others. He had a big heart and forgave easily.

Austin grew up in the church and at the age of 12, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. As a young adult Austin continued to grow spiritually and was looking for a home church after moving to Burnsville. Austin loved Jesus and looked to his Heavenly Father for direction and purpose in his life. The love he found in Jesus was evident in his relationships with others.

Austin is survived by his mother, Christina Montenegro and younger brother, Jaden Grosam; grandmother, Angelica Marmolejo; grandfather, Benito Montenegro; aunts and uncles, Ricardo Marmolejo; David and Michaela Marmolejo; Dave and Linda Fournier; Brian Marmolejo and Missy McVenes; and seventeen cousins; his girlfriend, Sinavey Sean; Also his father, Andrew Grosam; grandfather, Larry Grosam; aunts and uncles, Sara Skornicka and spouse; Naomi Freyholtz and spouse; Jaime Case and spouse; and seven cousins.
