Audrey's obituary

Audrey was born in Battle Creek Michigan, October 8, 1933 to Jodie Birdsong and Pearl Breedan. She moved to Holly Hill, FL from Greensboro, N.C. 73 years ago with her husband John Ward. She had two sons Ronnie and Tim Ward (all who predeceased her in death). After John’s passing, her nephew Mike moved in with her to help in her care. Her neighbor Donald Davis was also an invaluable help to her while alive. Her life long friends friends Patsy, Barbara K., and Donna were steadfast friends. Until the onset of dementia she was the one who kept in touch with each member of the family, sharing news as she received it. Hers were the first Christmas or birthday cards we received. She brought our families together for holiday meals and celebrations. She was a terrific cook and baker, well known for her ice tea. She had a special relationship with our uncle Bob, her niece Cyndi and her cousin Marjie and her husband George. They held a special place in her heart.

Audrey was a wife, mother, and a sister to Jerry, Barbara, and Sharon Kay. She is survived my many nieces and nephews who will miss having a place for family gatherings. Audrey always said, to hug your family and tell them you love them.  She also said, she couldn’t wait to see Jesus and be with John and the boys.  Audrey was not only our aunt but our second mother. She was our inspiration and provided us with good advice during her lifetime.
