Happy Birthday Grandma!!! I miss you and love you so much!
From Beth Cain:
When I moved to CA in 1985 I didn't expect to meet my two best friends-but I did and I met them both at one place. Audrey was one of the ladies. So kind and thoughtful of every person. A very talented person in arts, crafting and sewing who always shared her trade secrets with me. She also shared her family with me (and Stephanie ) at picnics, parties or just hanging out. A wonderful family----a wonderful wonderful friend. 🌹

She was always so much fun! Her "hotel" (tiny apartment) was always open for family and she would have the best sandwich spread on the table in minutes of our arrival. The sugar drawer was always stocked with a stash of treats and under her TV were toys that the kids could play with for hours! When I was younger, we picked strawberries from her garden, did lots of arts and crafts, made my prom dress together, and laughed & laugh. When I got older, she and I would talk family, arts and crafts, and stories of her past, then she and Jay would play hours and hours of yahtzee all night while the kids and I would go to sleep on her hide-a-bed couch. We had to be careful not to say if we liked something of hers, because she give it to us and every visit the car was so loaded with her generosity that we almost couldn't fit the kids. I loved how much she loved St Patty's Day and telling the kids that we were going to take them down to city hall to get their butts painted green-- and they believed her every year! She had so many fun sayings and silly words like burkey tird (turkey bird), man o' shevitz, "I never _____ (fill in the blank) unless I'm alone or with someone," "its the best thing since sliced bread, I should know because I've been around that long"...and so much more! I'm writing this because I never want to forget...I want my kids to remember...I want to tell stories about my fun, silly, beautiful, loving, Irish grandma to my grandchildren...and cuz I want to be just like her!!!
