Audrey Smith, born on September 27, 1969, passed away on March 27, 2025. Her life was profoundly marked by her stern, witty, polite, and outgoing personality, enriching those around her with life lessons, foremost among them being to always stand up for oneself.
She left behind her beloved husband, Elroy Smith, and their sons, Garrick Buckley and Jayden Smith, and loving daughter Natalie Smith whose successful lives stand as testament to Audrey’s nurturing nature and are counted among her greatest accomplishments.
Audrey was an individual of distinguished intellect, having graduated with a Masters degree from Queens Community college in 2001. She also served as a committed attendee at the Journey Church, showcasing her spiritual inclination.
Her passion lay in Jamaica’s culture and music, her favorite song being Bob Marley's "Natural Mystic". She was a firm supporter of the Reggae Boys and reveled in performances by Leonardo DiCaprio. Her favorite recreational activity was traveling, and she held a particular fondness for swimming. Always seeking solace in her roots, Jamaica was her favorite vacation spot.
Locally, Audrey's preferred haunt was the 9th Island Grill, where she often indulged in her favorite foods, such as Oxtails, accompanied by servings of Sorrel, her favored drink. Yellow, a color as bright and lively as her personality, was her favorite.
Undeniably, Audrey was a woman of great compassion and profound concern for society, demonstrated by her active engagement in causes like supporting abused women. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
We mourn the loss of Audrey Smith, yet we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be forever missed until we all meet again.
