Audrey's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Audrey Doy on May 14th, 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary with her daughters Cathy and Andrea by her side.

Audrey was born on March 30th, 1939 in Halifax to Fred and Helen Clarke. She was one of 7 siblings. She grew up in Halifax, where she met Patrick Doy and they were married on April 12,1958. Together they shared a full life with their three children Allan, Cathy and Andrea.

Audrey was known for loving smile and kindness towards others. She spent many years in the retail business working at Dominion and IGA, ending her career in 2014 with Sears Canada. She touched many lives along the way, always showing compassion and friendship. She was a member of Emmanuel Church in Spryfield, and part of Mothers Union.

Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband Patrick Doy of 66 years, her son Allan, and granddaughter Shannon. Also, by her parents and 4 of her siblings.

Audrey is survived by her daughters Cathy Johnson (Darrell), and Andrea Doy (David); her grandchildren Aaron Doy (Courtney), Taylor Prest (Daniel), Nick Johnson (Kelsey), Aarika Doy (Riley), Ella Fennell and Ethan Fennell; her great granddaughter and name sake Audrey Doy. Her sisters Joyce, and Sandra, and brother Dennis, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be sorely missed by her furry grand-babies Macie, Buddy (dog), Gemma, Buddy (cat), and Merlin.

A funeral service will be held on Friday May 24, 2024 at 1pm, at Emmanuel Church, 322 Herring Cove Rd., with reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA, or a charity of your choice.

Please join us in celebrating Audrey’s life and sharing memories.
