Dr. Aubrey Elkanah Amsterdam
July, 21st, 1938 – December, 27th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Aubrey Elkanah Amsterdam, a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on 1-18-2024 at the age of 90.
Born and raised in Guyana, South America, Aubrey lived a remarkable life of service, compassion, and dedication. As a skilled and passionate doctor, he devoted his career to the well-being of others, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives in his community. His commitment to his profession reflected his deep sense of purpose and unwavering care for humanity.
In later years, Aubrey moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where he embraced a new chapter of life surrounded by family and new friends. Despite leaving his homeland, his heart always carried the warmth and spirit of Guyana.
An avid golfer, Aubrey found joy and relaxation on the greens, cherishing the camaraderie and the beauty of the game. Whether it was a perfect swing or a shared laugh with fellow players, his love for golf was a testament to his vibrant and full life.
Above all, Aubrey will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, boundless wisdom, and the unconditional love he extended to everyone who knew him. His legacy as a healer and a pillar of his family will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have been touched by his kindness.
Dr. Amsterdam is survived by his [wife, children, grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his son Ronald Amsterdam, and his loving wife Marie Amsterdam.
A celebration of his life will be held on 1-18-2025 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The boys and Girls club in Aubrey’s honor, reflecting his lifelong dedication to helping others.
Though he is no longer with us, the memory of Dr. Aubrey Elkanah Amsterdam will remain an enduring source of comfort, inspiration, and love. His legacy will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
