Atlas's obituary

Atlas Page Pickett was born on December 2, 1933, to Wesley Newton Pickett and Gladys May Rigsbee Pickett in Durham, NC.  Page enlisted in the Navy in February 1953 then transferred to the Air Force until February 1957 where he became an airplane mechanic.  He eventually became a crew chief to his KC97, which he maintained to a high standard.

While stationed in Lincoln, NE, Page attended First Baptist Church, where he met the love of his life, Alice Marcile Mullins. The two sweethearts married and then started their family.

Page spent most of his working years as an over the road truck driver.  He loved to tell everyone that he drove his semi over one million miles with only one accident, and that one wasn't his fault!

After he retired, Page enjoyed his time with his wife, watching nature, and showing his antique cars.  Page also enjoyed his tie on the Fire Board, and with the United Methodist Men.

Page's greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  The happy couple successfully raised three daughters, Sandra L. Pickett-Bowen, Sheila P. Pickett Rush (husband Terry), and Paula R. Pickett.  Their union also produced 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Page was proceeded in death by his daughter, Sheila Page Pickett Rush, his parents, and his brother, Cary Newton Pickett.

Page peacefully passed away on November 12, 2022, at the Northwood Hills Care Center, with his bride of 66 years at his side.

Page's celebration of Life Service is scheduled for December 2, 2022, at the Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church in Hermitage, MO.
