It is with immense grief that we announce the passing of Ather "Dan" Garvan Jr. Born on October 18, 1949, he was fondly known to friends and family as Dan. His life journey came to an end on July 18, 2023.

Dan is remembered as a loving father to Daniell Cossey and Ashely Lee. He was a devoted husband to Peggy Garvan. His memory will continue to be cherished by his sons-in-law, David Cossey and Charles Lee, and his darling granddaughter, Madelyn Cossey.

He was predeceased by his father, Ather Garvan Sr. Despite losing his dad at a young age, Dan was able to carry on the family name with great pride and honour.

Those who knew Dan will remember his passion for seafood, John Wayne films, and his support for the New Orleans Saints, The University of Notre Dame, and Louisiana Tech sports teams. Known for his love for the outdoors, he spent countless hours fishing at his favorite local spot, Caney Lake.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held for Dan on August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Belle Park Baptist Church. His loved ones invite you to join them in honouring Dan's memory and to share stories of the joy he brought to their lives.

In loving memory, we bid farewell to Ather "Dan" Garvan, who was not just an ordinary man, but an extraordinary father, husband, father-in-law, and grandfather. His spirit will continue to live among us through the cherished memories he's left behind.
