Astrid Rosalie Olivia Blakemore died peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023 in Woodbridge, VA at the age of 73. A retired legal secretary and long-time teacher, loving sister, aunt and loyal friend, Astrid received her BS and MA in Education and was a lifelong learner who encouraged the same in others.

She loved sharing stories and laughing out loud with family and friends. She had a kind heart and volunteered often, enjoyed exploring the outdoors, enjoyed competing at board games, reading voraciously and writing creatively.

She is predeceased by her parents, Cornelis Willem and Mignon Amelia Leeflang, her brothers Ronald Eduard, Karel Frederik, and Franklin Humphrey. She is survived by siblings Jan Willem, Raymond Edwin, Bart Marcel, and Mignon; her nieces, nephews and extended family.
