Ashley had a heart of gold,
as everyone she knew would know.
Many tears were surely shed,
in the 34 years of life she led.
For the tears were not hers alone,
Shed as she would, for any soul.
No burden was too big to share,
For what was yours was hers to bear.
Her life was stolen, not by fate,
But by a hand that chose to hate.
No reason, mercy, or goodbye—
Just questions echoing in the sky.
Her wings were broken before she died,
But not her soul, and not her fight.
In death, she rose beyond the pain,
And learned to spread her wings again.
I couldn’t save her from that night,
But I can speak her name in light.
Her story bends but never ends.
Her spirit rises, wild and free.
Forever my sister’s keeper, I’ll be.
Ashley HAS a heart of gold, and it’s time to bring her home with me.
