Arthur's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Moreno, affectionately known as Art. Born on February 2, 1955, Art passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025. A loving son, brother, father, grandfather, family and friend. He will be remembered for his of kindness, charisma, and generosity.
Art is survived by his mother, Helen Diaz, who was his rock. Though he’d never admit it, he was truly a mama’s boy. Helen embodies strength and resilience, and she would have moved mountains for son. She is the cornerstone of our family, teaching us to always stand up for one another, support each other, and give generously because of her faith in knowing that God would provide more. Her fearless love was passed on to Art, who extended that same love to his children—Eva, Denise, and Daniel—who were his greatest pride and joy. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he embraced his role as a father and papa with unconditional love, embodying the same gentle yet strong, giving yet fighting spirit that his mother Helen had instilled in him.
Art was a hardworking and dedicated sheet metal worker and retired from Local 105. He believed strongly in the value of having a trade. True to his character, he took every opportunity to encourage youngsters to join the union and offered them chances to start careers in construction. Art had a taste for the finer things in life, often seen sporting a stylish hairstyle and wearing fashionable clothing. He loved fast cars, luxury furniture, and motorcycles. His high standards extended to home life as well, where he expected everything to be in order. It was a rule in his house that his family had to look sharp, with shoes on and dressed well. He wanted everything to be neat and tidy. Art had a lot of self-pride and carried himself with his head held high. You could see it in the way he walked, I'm sure everyone can remember that special swag in his step that made him stand out. His confidence was evident in everything he did, from his work to the way he presented himself.
Art had deep faith in God, home town pride-SGV and a strong love for his country USA. Whether rocking out to his favorite music, riding his beloved Harley—his “scooter”—or simply spreading kindness, he lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many. We can all agree -He Did It His Way.
A Memorial service for Art will be held on February 27, 2025, at 10AM at the Todd Memorial Chapel.
He will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery 1:30PM. As we remember Art, we celebrate his life and the enduring memories he left behind.
May his memory bring comfort in the days ahead, and may his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity continue to shine. Rest in peace, Art—you will be dearly missed.
