Arthur's obituary
Arthur Walter True, age 89, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on May 25, 1936, in Hampstead New Hampshire, Arthur led a life marked by service, dedication, and craftsmanship.
Known to many as Art, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked on F-86 & B 36 airplanes demonstrating a strong sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, he continued to support the nation’s infrastructure through a career at the nuclear power plant and Central Arizona project. A skilled tradesman and devoted professional, Art was a proud and active member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 428 for over 50 years.
Art’s creativity and attention to detail extended into his personal life through his passion for model trains. An endeavor that brought him great joy and satisfaction.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Sonya True Little, Nancy Conner, Cindy Odell, and Jim Gibson, his sister-in-law Pat True, and his partner Merry Anne Evans. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roger True, his sister, Donna True, and his daughter Gina True.
A Funeral Service will be held on January 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024. A luncheon will be at the home of Nancy Conner following the service. 7237 West Becker Lane, Peoria AZ 85345.
