To the coolest guy I ever met. I always looked forward to the adventures of Hap. He had some of the funnest stories and always made me laugh.

One of the smartest, kindest , most generous people I have ever worked with. He was beloved by all who knew and met him at work. One could always count on Hap for guidance, tech advice and always the one you wanted to go to in any kind of software or hardware emergency. I loved to hear him talk about the farm, his animals, and his family. Truly a life well lived although way too short. It is amazing how fortunate we are to share time and space with so many wonderful people on this earth and it was truly a blessing to know and work with Hap. May God bless Hap and his family at this time.

Hap and I worked together on the mainframes in the 90's and again in 2015 until I retired. He was one of the most talented people I have worked with. He always smiled and was up beat. His face really lit up when we talked about his family and animals. Hap and I took a business day trip to Clarksburg, W. V. and the drive there and back went by so fast because I loved hearing stories of all the animals. I believe he really enjoyed his work on the farm and the mainframes. When he solved a mainframe problem his face lit up and he was very patient explaining to others what they needed to know. One of his coworkers had a problem they were working on for days, they asked Hap to take a look and he solved it quickly ... so we bought him a Wizard hat and he wore it when he solved the next problem.

To Hap:
In my old age
I have come to realize that one simple statement
is the ultimate compliment you can give a person.
It is:
“You are a good man”.
And, Hap, you are. And he was.
That says everything …
Except for Hap, for Hap there is more:
He was the nicest person, human being, man or woman, I ever met. A pure soul. Permeated with kindness. A joy to know.
And … the amazing multifaceted family that Hap created, and attracted, with his abundant love, is both impressive and astonishing - its continuation, living beyond him, is testimony to the fullness of Hap’s time on earth. He did what he came to do.
And … He was my brother.
Found only later in our lives.
The sadness is this - that together we had inadequate time to ripen and enjoy that bond.
I love you, Bud.

This is one of our many "offsite staff meetings" at Clyde's. You can see the smile on Hap's face. He loved to eat. The selection of foods prepared by Executive Chef Jeff Eng never disappointed.

My condolences to Hap’s family. I worked with Hap and remember sharing horse stories with him and, at my request, he tried his best to teach me sign language, but I just wasn’t very good at it. Rest In Peace, my friend.
