In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Arthur Harris Memorial Fund.

Background

In lieu of food or flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Arthur Harris Memorial fund to be used for Perpetual Yahrziet dedication, with remaining funds benefiting the Shriners’ Children Hospital in his name.

We are arranging a Perpetual Yahrzeit for him, a Jewish tradition where his name will be spoken aloud in remembrance on the anniversary of his passing every year. For the next 100 years, this will take place in a synagogue in Israel, beneath the world-famous Chagall windows.

In Judaism, we believe that speaking a person’s name keeps their memory alive. This tradition ensures that, long after those of us who knew him are gone, his life will still be honored and his name will still be carried in prayer. Each year, in that sacred space filled with light and color, his story will be remembered, his name woven into the community’s blessings.

It is both a spiritual memorial and a promise that for a century to come, he will not be forgotten.

Any donations in any amount will help us reach our goal in this regard.
