Uncle Art was taken to Hospice of the Chesapeake this past Tuesday June 21. Art died peacefully this morning Thursday June 23, 2022. He was almost 95. Up until earlier this month, DadArt /Uncle Art had been leading a fulfilling, fun, and busy life at his residence at Brightview Senior Living, near John and Chrissy in Annapolis. He took meals with John and Chrissy at their home most every week. Nancy and I (Greg) had visited with him within the past 5 weeks. I took him out for driving practice in his Smart car during my visit; Nancy, John and Chrissy took him to various parks and the Annapolis waterfront during her visit. We will miss these visits and outings with him. DadArt suffered a stroke earlier this month, and his communication abilities declined significantly 2 days later. We were very fortunate to have him spend his final days at Hospice of the Chesapeake, where we could spend some time with him outdoors near gardens and fountains. We will honor his wishes for internment of his ashes at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savanah, Georgia, at the Bell Plot, 149H, where his father and his grandfather George Arthur Emory, and Grandmother Louise Paige Emory, are located. We are tentatively planning to do this in early November. Uncle Art loved all of his extended family, and we know you all loved him. Love, Greg, John & Nancy
