I just heard of Arthur's passing.  He met me when I was a kid at a party my sister, A Carney Hospital nurse, had at our house while my parents were away.  Years later I also graduated from Marquette and came to work at South Shore Medical Center.  On one of my first days, he came up to me and said we had met years earlier at that party that was part of our family lore!  He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

 My Condolences to his Family

I Had the Pleasure in the early Morning's around 5-6 am Many years ago, Dr Bowman would come in Our office before starting his day and asking me to pull some records for him to go over and sign. He would talk about his Family and crack jokes. Dr Bowman will be missed deeply he is very well-respected kindhearted man with a great sense of humor. I hope whom ever he mentored gained this from him. Dr Bowman has fixed many knees in my family including my mother-in-law's knees she just adored his bedside manner.
Thank you for the memories and Kindness, Dr Bowman you are missed

I worked with Arthur for many years. It was always a pleasure to work with him. He was a skilled surgeon and was a kind and compassionate man which is what makes a person a great doctor. My condolences to his family.

I was fortunate to know Arthur and work with him during my years at South Shore Hospital. He was a colleague and a friend.  Always enjoyed our conversations….and particularly his wonderful sense of humor.  My sincere condolences to the Bowman family. We will all miss him very much.

My mother worked for Dr. Bowman for many years and was so impressed with him as a caring person.  His first priority was always his patients.  The business was secondary,  He was a great physician and family man.  She enjoyed her friendship with the doctor and his entire family.  They are both in a better place.

Arthur was both my friend and colleague for many years. Our paths crossed, at several institutions, in the OR, on committees, at rounds, and at social fund-raising events. He was a man you wanted to be around. A man of stature, who combined intellect, humor, and humility with grace. I valued his opinions, whether I agreed with him or not. I must thank him for mentoring my son! He left a lasting impression on him, for which, i will be indebted to him.

I'll miss our chats in the surgeon's lounge on topics like sports, current events, Civil War, and the direction our profession was going. I will miss him, but more importantly, our profession will miss him.

A surgeon with skills to foster healing, empathy to calm the troubled mind, and humor to elevate the spirit. Arthur embodied the best calling of our profession. He lived the "Healing Art".

Unfortunately, I will miss his memorial service, being out of town. My prayers go out to his wife and family, and happily support the good works of the Norwell VNA.                                                                    ROLL  TIDE

I was a young podiatrist , working to get operating room privileges at Carney Hospital.  Arthur  made a point of helping me to attain my goal, working to break down the establishment barriers. I always think of him, along with Dr. Richard Kilfoyle, with deep gratitude.
I had the honor and the privilege to work with Dr. Bowan for over 5 years at South Shore Orthopedics.  I always found him to be kind, friendly with a great sense of humor.  While I haven't been in touch with him as often over the past few years, I did appreciate that he would always text me back and keep in touch.  I will certainly miss him.

Dr. Bowman had a way of taking you right under his wing and teaching you. I learned much from my years working with him at SSO, not just work-related but true life lessons. His sense of humor and blatant honesty are my favorite qualities about him. His laugh was contagious as was his smile. A true legend who will be missed by many.

My deepest sympathy to the Bowman family, Arthur was an amazing man.

Deepest Condolences to the family of our beloved cousin.  We treasure the season we spent with you in our lives.  We loved and respected you.
My condolences to a great man who left a great family …both at home and at South Shore H. He will be very missed.
He was one of the first to welcome me to the South Shore Hospital medical staff back in '93.  Many great memories trading stories in the doctors lounge.  I'll never forget him telling me during a snowstorm: "Love this weather.  I've got tuition bills to pay!"

What an amazing man!! He will be missed ! Prayers to his family may their memories bring them comfort and peace.
Arthur was an amazing person as a colleague, mentor, physician, family man and a human.  I always enjoyed our conversations.  First class human being who always approached life with humor and kindness.  His patients adored him.  Huge loss.
Dr. Bowman was the best. Especially to us kids growing up. He was generous, kind, funny, and a true family man. I have so many fond memories at the Bowmans growing up and Dr.Bowman was always in integral part of those memories. To the entire Bowman family, I’m so sorry for your  loss.
We knew Arthur & Debbie as neighborhood friends thru our kids.  In addition to being an exceptional physician, Arthur was always motivated to coach the  boys, and they respected him for it as well as his other virtues.  He was as good a man as we might be expected to discover in our lives.  Our love go out to Debbie and her lovely family.  Arthur will always be remembered.
