Arthur's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Arthur Burke, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend to all whose lives he touched. Born on November 20, 1966, he left us  suddenly on September 16, 2025. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he lived a full life filled with happiness and accomplishment.

Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Sapienza, and their treasured daughters, Maria Burke and Brianna Burke. The light of his life was his granddaughter, Natasha Robertson, whom he adored with all his heart. He also leaves behind his caring sister, Kathleen Colon. He was predeceased by his father, Alan Burke, and his mother, Joan Zitterman.

Arthur was a man of good appetite, cherishing all of Lisa’s meals. He had an affinity for coffee and was an ardent fan of Led Zeppelin. Whether it was keeping up with politics and crime shows on television or enjoying a good comedy, he was a man of diverse interests. His appreciation for art was evident in his love for rock bands and his favorite color, Green. He was a devoted Jets fan and found great joy in the music of his favorite bands like the Allman Brothers and America.

His outgoing, caring, and lovable personality coupled with his comedic nature brought light and life to every gathering. Arthur was an amazing mason, showcasing his artistic flair through his work. Despite his life-long dream of becoming an architectural engineer, he left an indelible mark in his chosen trade, testament to his hard work and dedication.

Arthur treasured his family and embraced every moment with them. His favorite moments were Sunday family dinners with sauce, meatballs, and pasta. His love for local beach concerts made them a cherished spot. His wisdom and humor, encapsulated in his advice of 'What not to do', will always be remembered. His most significant accomplishment was the deep, lasting relationships he formed with his loved ones, friends, and colleagues.

Arthur's legacy is not just in his professional success, but more in the smiles he brought to people's faces and the love he so generously gave. He deeply loved his children and granddaughter, and that love was reciprocated fully. The void left by his sudden departure is enormous, but his contagiously joyful spirit and the memories he left behind will forever remain in our hearts.
