It is with great sadness that we convey the passing of Aron Sidney "Sid" Grimes, formerly of Laplata MD, who passed away on Novemeber 13, 2024.

Sid, born December 14, 1932 in Washington DC, the eldest of 10 children born to Aron S Grimes Sr. & Effie Mae Cooksey Grimes.

Sid was talented baseball athlete achieving numerous pitching and batting records in his 52 year baseball career. The majority of those years spent playing for the American Legion Post 82.

Beyond the baseball diamond, Sid was a kind soul compassionate about giving back to his family, friends and community, offering any support he could to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sids loving spirit is carried on by his son, Justin Grimes , grandchildren Anthony Grimes, Jacob Norwood, Analicia Grimes and Arabella Grimes. Proceeding him in death are his parents, 6 siblings, his wife Patricia Zingler Grimes and long time partner Becky Evans.

A service will be held to remember Sids life at the American legion Post 82 in La Plata MD, time and date to be determined.
