Armond's obituary

Born in Portland to Marguerite and Erwin Kalesse in 1942, Armond passed away on December 24th from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis after a 10 year battle. He graduated from Wilson High (Ida B. Wells), worked at his dad’s auto garage in Multnomah Village, served in the Oregon National Guard, and graduated from Eastern WA State College. His careers ranged from Taco Time manager; Area Director for Motorola Corp. and Exec. Dir. of Friendsview Retirement Community with a sprinkling of mini careers in between. His favorite post career job was driving bus for Life Christian School where his granddaughter Felicia attended. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 58 years, son Matt (Tracy), daughter Michelle Fox (Jake), six grandchildren to whom he was Opa: Felicia, Brodie, Lilli, Owen, Maia and Gavin, four great-grandchildren, sisters Charlene Dickinson, Laurie Urbas, brother Gordon, and several nieces and nephews.

Armond will be missed for his warmth, humor, welcoming presence, and deep faith in God. His service will be held at 2 pm on Feb. 10th at Newberg First Pres. Church - 501 Mission Dr. Newberg. Reception to follow at Friendsview Retirement Community, 1301 Fulton St. Newberg, Oregon 97132.
