Armando's obituary
Armando Piracci, 90, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 25th, 2024 at the Harbor Chase Assisted Living facility in Coral Springs, Florida.
Armando leaves his four loving sons, Valentino (Dino) Piracci and his wife Lori Piracci of Charlton, Massachusetts, Peter Piracci and his wife Jill (Colarusso) Piracci of Ft Lauderdale, Florida, Antonio Angelo (Tony) Piracci of Fort Lauderdale, and, Giulio Angelo Piracci and his wife Bernadette (Novembre) Piracci of Boca Raton, Florida. Armando leaves his only loving daughter, Michelina Piracci of Fort Lauderdale.
Armando was the last of 5 siblings to pass as he was predeceased by three sisters, Tessina (Tessy) (Grasso) Piracci of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Lena DiRodi (Piracci) of Worcester, Antonella Kaltsas (Piracci) of Fort Lee, New Jersey and brother, Giulio Piracci and wife Maria (Solitro) Piracci of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Mr. Piracci was born in Vieste, Italy, the son of the late Valentino and Michelina (Mastromatteo) Piracci of Worcester, Massachusetts, previously, Vieste, Italy province of Foggia. Armando and wife of 25 years, Filomena (Santoro) Piracci Married in 1961 and moved to America in the early ’60s where they resided on Gage Street as their first American residence, followed by East Central St. and St. Nicholas Avenue.
Armando had a strong work ethic. In the early 1950s, he worked at his father’s tailor shop in Vieste, Italy, and later as a tailor in Worcester, Massachusetts, for fine men’s clothing outfits with Shacks, Ware Pratt, and House of Doherty. He retired in the early 2000s after working with Milton’s in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Armando’s first language was Italian and was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St. Ann’s Parish on East Central Street, rarely missing a Sunday Mass. He enjoyed taking care of his home with improvement and renovation projects, requiring many trips to his favorite hardware store, Spags. He also enjoyed his favorite beaches on family vacations to Goddard Park and Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island.
In 2018 Mr. Piracci moved to South Florida to be with his family where he enjoyed family holidays and spending time with his seven grandchildren, Samantha, Peter, Maria, Nicholas, Giovanni, Leonardo, and Jasira Piracci. Two great-grandchildren, Manny and Mason Piracci.
A private mass was held for the immediate family after the passing.
