Vic married us. He also gave the memorial service for Robert when he died. So. Many. Memories.

After our family arrived in San Luis Obispo in Jan of 1960 the Granvolds formed a huge bond with the Gheza family and  share so much history. Vic’s presence at our major life events will never be forgotten. Vic presided at the wedding of my brother Ron and my brother Terry. I remember him dancing to “Zorba the Greek” at someone’s wedding!  He knew how to have fun but Vic also had a very special gift of empathy. When Ron lost his young wife I remember him sitting in front of Ron forehead to forehead saying a quiet prayer with him alone. He also gave the memorial talk, which was a wonderful witness to many in the community. I finally truly understood what a gift such spiritual men are. Vic was very special, truly unique. Our love to wonderful Wilma and to Vicky, Doug, Tony and their families at this sad time. When Vic comes back with Mom, Dad, Judy, Debby and Terry we’ll have a big party, and he can dance to “Zorba”.

The beautiful Memorial of Vic’s life inspired my heart with happiness and  love. Every word and photograph radiated Vic’s deep joy and the celebration of the gift of life in its many facets. I especially remember and appreciate Vic for his—in his old age with a walking stick himself—making kind and frequent visits on Bob as they both were losing strength and vigor. It meant so much to Bob.  On the anticipated day, he would get up and put on a special shirt for those visits. Both are now asleep but will wake up soon to see each other and—all of us together—marvel at the reward of the REAL LIFE FOREVER! I just can’t wait!

Vic was my mentor; I learned so much from him through the years.  He was an amazing speaker & just an amazing man.  We are looking forward to seeing him, in good health, in earthly paradise.

With the deepest sympathy we send this message.  When a much loved one goes to  sleep in death everyone suffers.  Jehovah has given you friends and family to encourage you, but its only  Jehovah and time that can heal a broken heart.  Our prayer for you is that time will take the sorry you bear at this time,  and leave loving memories of your father.  With love:  Jack and Elenor Miller.     P.S.    Hug your precious mother for me.

We love you guys so much! Please know how sad we are for your loss and the additional trials you’ve been dealing with   How much we all long for the new system!!
We are so sorry for the loss of Vic but we look forward to the near future when we will visit again. He sleeps in the safe spot of Jehovahs memory. Thank you for sharing this with all of us and we send our love to the family!!
May Jehovah bring you all comfort during this time.  We have always heard wonderful things about Vic, even though we didn’t know him real well.  His reputation with the family and the congregation(s) brings testimony to the fact that he lived his life to the full, treating people with dignity and respect.  Can’t wait to see him again real soon.💖💐
Vic, Wilma and their kids welcomed me into the congregation and their family when I arrived in San Luis Obispo as a single sister. I will always appreciate all of their kindness, hospitality and friendships. Vic was an outstanding teacher and kind, approachable man. It's a blessing to know that Jehovah will soon bring him back to everyone that loved and appreciated him.
Vic was a wonderful example of using his natural gifts and talents to further Jehovahs interests and help others. We eagerly await the time we can welcome him back! Our love and prayers to the whole fam, wishing you comfort in knowing he is safely resting in Jehovah's memory, for just  a little while longer. 🤍

Thank you so much for letting us be included in sharing our Memories about Vic. Our hearts go out to you Wilma, Vickie, Doug and Tony.

Vic was a real help, studying with me in Walnut Creek when I was 17 back in 1971.  I called the Kingdom Hall for a Bible Study and Vic happened to be there. I recall that I was disappointed that one near my age was not the one that came by. Jehovah, however, knew what was best. As a teenager, I needed a father figure in the truth. Vic proved to be that for me.

Cristy and I have had many assignments and I regret that we did not keep in better contact. Just know that we greatly appreciate all your encouragement and example at the time. I am sure I am just one of many lives that you touched.  Thank you all. Vic will be missed.

Paradise soon and the resurrection.  Treasure the memories until you are united with loved ones.  Jehovah comfort and strengthen your ohana to endured patiently as we await all our living God’s promises.  Much aloha and mahalos for the memories
My deepest sympathies go out to Wilma, Doug, Tony, Vicki for losing your wonderful husband and father. Your father was a spiritual mentor to me. When he was assigned to the Walnut Creek congregation, I so appreciated his persuasive congenial mannerisms to admonish the congregation. I felt that he was talking to me personally when he gave talks from the platform. I even took to heart some of the scriptural advice and admonishments I received from Vic. You will be truly missed, but we all we see him soon.

Sending my condolences to the family. I have fond memories in Santa Cruz and Atascadero with the Gheza family. My prayers and love extend to all of you.

To the family:

Thank you for sending this .Such fond memories starting in SLO then Santa Cruz and cherished even now. Serving with Vic was a privilege, inspiring and joyous. We will cherish our memories and friendship with Vic, Wilma, Vicky, Doug and Tony in Santa Cruz. While our association has diminished by time and distance our love and thoughts of the Gheza family have continued to flourish. You all are in our prayers at this time. While we await a joyous reunion in the new world may we all continue to be united by our cherished faith.
