Arlin's obituary
Arlin Helen (Saam) Pearson, 86, of Westerville, Ohio passed away February 11th, 2025.
She was born in Fremont, Ohio in 1938 to Helen (Thoma) and Erle Saam. Arlin attended Fremont City schools before studying at Bowling Green University where she was a member of Kappa Delta and chapter president junior year. She then received her master's degree in special education from Kent State University.
After school, she dedicated herself to a fulfilling teaching career at the Ohio State School for the Deaf where she was loved by students and colleagues.
She had a life-long love of horses and gained a long-time companion in her horse, Champ. She gave that same dedication to her children and was unwavering in her love and support. She was a wonderful friend and always had a kind word for everyone.
Arlin is survived by her loving daughter Beth Pearson, unofficially adopted sister Judy Hallman, and loving son Shawn (Bethany) Pearson, along with her 4 grandchildren, Alayna, Jonah, Joshua, and Sophie Pearson.
In keeping with her generous wishes, her body was donated to OSU for the advancement of science and education. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deaf Services Center. Celebration of Life ceremony details to be announced.
