Arlene Beth Ogle, 93, passed away the morning of July 15, 2020 in Des Plaines, Illinois. Arlene was living near her daughter and some of her grandchildren at the time of her death but lived much of her life in beloved Monroeville, Indiana from 1977 to 2010.
Arlene was born December 13, 1926, along with her fraternal twin, William “Bill” Malish, to Edward and Ruth Malish in Toledo, Ohio. She met her husband, the love of her life, Wilford Ogle while attending Otterbein College in Ohio. After marriage, she was a proud and devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a huge heart, and was very active late in life, spending much of her time volunteering at churches, nursing homes, and local schools. She even found time to volunteer translating books into braille.
Everyone who knew Arlene knew that she lived a happy and social life, beloved by all. She loved spending time with her friends and family, creating art, performing magic shows for elementary school events, and crossword puzzles. Arlene was also an accomplished writer, publishing a mystery novel for preteens named “Scatts Well” in the late 1990s. Arlene also enjoyed gardening, baking, singing in choirs, bible studies, and being an active member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church.
Arlene is survived by four children, Cynthia, Michael, Kyle, Bryan, ten grandchildren, and twenty- three great grandchildren.
