Anton and I met in 1993 when I started dating Ally's mother Beverly. When Beverly, Ally, and I moved to Giddings, TX in 1995 it was not too long before Anton moved to Austin so he could be close to Ally. I have wonderful memories of going to pick up Ally on Sunday evenings and sitting around and visiting with Anton and discussing music and movies. When Debbie came into Anton and Ally's life, we all 4 enjoyed many times just visiting and collaborating as Ally's 4 parents.

When Beverly passed, Ally went to live with Anton and Debbie, and I continued to see Ally and spend time with her. I still remember the night when I went to drop off Ally and Anton was so excited about his new sound system. He told me I had to hear the first few minutes of a movie called The 5th Element, well, you cannot just watch a few minutes, so we enjoyed listening and watching the entire movie. We also had fun at other times listening to the latest additions to Anton's extensive music collection, (he had some great boot leg Jimi Hendrix just jamming with friends).

I was always amazed at Anton's brilliant mind. The fact that he had worked in biochemistry and with DNA always impressed me and yet he could be so down to earth and delight in the simple things in life.

Above all , Anton's adoration, dedication, and love for Debbie, Ally, and Harrison, and Jack will be the most significant lasting memories I will carry with me.

Anton and Beverly created such an amazing daughter in Ally, and I am so blessed by the gift they gave to me and the rest of the world.

Here's a quote from Jeff Beck.

"I was going to write an autobiography once. I started writing it, and then I thought, 'No, let them dig around when I'm dead."

Anton, you left us plenty to dig around in for years to come.

Thanks for letting us stand next to your fire, the flame will always burn.

It was such sad news to hear about Anton. Thinking of his family at this time and sending prayers and big hugs and love

Anton was one of the first people I met when we were both 18 year-olds in our first week at Sussex University in Brighton, England, in 1978. Anton was an easygoing, sociable guy who drew people to him and made friends easily. He also knew people from previously visiting older friends in higher years at Sussex. He was one of those people who seem to know everybody and my first year at university, in particular, was undoubtedly enriched through meeting people I almost certainly wouldn't have if not for Anton. What I valued most was probably his open-heartedness and open-mindedness. Despite his considerable sophistication in some areas, such as rock music and the counter-culture more generally as well as academic and applied science, this bordered at times on an almost childlike innocence. There was always an essential goodness at the core of Anton's character. We graduated in 1981 in the middle of a catastrophic jobs market and found ourselves unemployed and living on welfare. It was then that I probably got to know Anton best of all, as for 4-5 months at the start of 1982 we ended up living in adjacent rooms in a rather rundown seafront hotel in Brighton that charged much-reduced rates during the off-peak tourist season. I'm sure Anton would have remembered this time as vividly as I still do, and as my now wife does also, who visited repeatedly from her native France and got to know Anton really quite well. She has been much saddened to learn of his passing. Despite the elapse of so much time, the news of Anton's death has come as very sad news indeed. I can see his youthful face before me so clearly as I write this. Goodbye Anton. Rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to all family and friends.
