Anthony King Shellhamer, aged 20, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Missouri City, Texas. He was a proud 2025 graduate of Ridge Point High School. He also completed a Plumbing Technician program from Houston Community College, graduating June 21, 2025. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Discount Tire, where he had worked for over a year. He held previous jobs at Jamba Juice and as an Assistant Soccer coach for Propel Soccer.

He had many interests, such as playing video games, fishing, gardening, playing pickleball, working out, grilling, drawing, spending time with friends, and watching the sunset. He enjoyed playing football and played for one year for the Chargers, a home school team, in ninth grade. He also enjoyed playing basketball. Anthony loved animals and children and was kind and gentle towards both. He loved showering Tilly Rose, the family dog, with attention.

He joined the Shellhamer family by adoption with his sisters, Diamond and Allison, when he was 10 years old. He also was adopted into God’s family, making a profession of faith in June 2016, just a few weeks after moving in with his parents, Russ and Anne. He was an active member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and served in many ways, including helping with activities at Vacation Bible School and leadership in the youth group.

He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Shellhamer and Grandma Shellhamer’s sister, Betty Crump, and her daughter Debbie (Neil) Hamilton, as well as his dad’s cousin’s husband, Butch Misterek. Also, “Aunt” Katrina Barker, a very dear friend of his mom who was like an aunt, preceded him in death.

He loved his family. He is survived by his parents, Russ and Anne Shellhamer, and his sisters, Diamond and Allison. On Anne’s side of the family, he is survived by his aunts Becky Amparan (Bengie) of Longmont, Colorado, Teresa Wegner of Austin, TX, and Uncle Mark Wegner (Beihua) of Austin, TX. His surviving cousins include Alex Amparan, Andy Amparan, and Jessica Wegner. His grandmother, Mary Shellhamer, and his grandparents, Ray and Joyce Wegner, also survive him.

He was blessed with a very large extended family through his grandpa Wegner, who had 12 brothers and sisters. The “Wegner reunion” was a highlight of summer vacation, which he attended 3 times, enjoying time with numerous second cousins and family members. He also met many of his second cousins and family members from his Grandma Wegner’s side. Anthony also made memories with his dad’s cousin Sherrie (James) and her family.

He enjoyed gardening and we would prefer plants, especially tropical plants, given in his memory. We will use them in a backyard garden, which Anthony tilled the soil for recently.
