Anthony's obituary
Anthony Charles Rosone passed peacefully on February 16th at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. The oldest son of Angela and S. Charles Rosone, Anthony (Tony) was born in Brooklyn on January 15 th, 1938. Over the next ten years, their family moved to North Bergen and then to Ridgefield, New Jersey. It was there, at the age of 16 that he met the love of his life, Ann Ferrara. Theirs was a storybook love affair and a wonderful life together; high school sweethearts, married one week after Tony graduated St. Peter’s College (the first college graduate in the family), and the creation of their own family with the birth of Bob and twins Michael and Jean Marie. The love and devotion they shared were extraordinary, and an inspiration to everyone who knew them. Their residences included Towaco, New Jersey, Bonita Springs, Florida, and finally Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. No matter where they lived, Tony and Ann’s home was a place filled with love and laughter. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was quick with a joke, and eternally patient as he endured Ann’s practical jokes. Tony’s career was in pharmaceutical sales, rising to an executive leadership position for a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb. His happiest times were when he was with his family and friends. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Tony quickly found that he was a gentleman, with concern for all and always with a word of encouragement, perspective, and support. Tony had been ill for some time, and the family is eternally grateful for the care that the staff and nurses of Cedar Crest provided. But what kept Tony going in his final years was Ann’s care and complete dedication to his comfort and well-being. As with any love story, her selflessness gave him contentment and joy till his final day. And in turn, Tony’s devotion to Ann and his family forged a life of abundance –of love, happiness, and joy that was a blessing to us all.
A life well-lived, Tony was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Charles. He leaves a sister, JoAnn McGuire and her husband Richard, his beautiful wife Ann, his children and their spouses; Bob (Phyllis), Michael (Kristen), Jean Marie (Forrest), along with grandchildren Stephen (spouse Stephanie), David (fiancé Katie), Jillian, Daniel, Alexandra, and Jake, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves many friends from all walks of life. And while our hearts are broken by his struggles over the past years, we’re filled with gratitude for the man he was and the impact he had on us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation in Tony’s name.
