Tony's obituary
Anthony Puzzo, Jr., “Tony” as he was known and loved, was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 24th, 1943, and passed in Port St. Lucie, FL on June 18, 2023. During his 80 years he wore many hats. He was a faithful husband of 59 years to Agnes Welutowicz, proud father of three children, Dawn Marie married to Joseph Capraro, Cyndee Ann married to Alan Shevak and Anthony James married to Kristen Brodmerkel. He was most proud to be Grandfather (G-Pa) to six boys, Bryce Shevak (GK1), Austin Shevak. (GK3), Jordan Capraro (GK2), A.J. Puzzo (GK4), Nico Puzzo (GK5) and James Puzzo (GK6); the loves of his life. His brother, Peter T. Puzzo, married to Beverly Senior, resides in Vero Beach, FL.
His career in the Suffolk County Police Department was his true calling. Starting as a Patrolman in May 1966, and retiring in September 1987, as a Detective Sergeant. He never really gave up that role. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman for the Manorville Fire Department on the east end of Long Island. Relocating in 1988 from Manorville, New York, to Jupiter, Florida, he started his second career as a Real Estate Agent, and officially retired in 2019. In between his careers, he managed to volunteer serving on his HOA boards, both Jupiter and Port St Lucie, Florida.
Many say Tony was larger than life, a big man with an even bigger personality who loved life, his family and the lord. Tony was a passionate sports fan rooting for the NY Jets, the Florida State Seminoles and whatever team on which his GKs played. He was an avid golfer, card shark, lover of music and parties, and winner of all trivia games. Tony and Aggie loved cruising on the open seas, dancing the Lindy and spending time with family. Anyone who knew Tony knew he was the most loving and devoted father, husband and G-Pa a family could ask for, a great friend and dedicated serviceman. He will always be loved and truly missed.
