Tony's obituary
Anthony John Piraino, Jr age 83 of Danvers, MA passed away peacefully on August 8th, surrounded by his family after battling many illnesses.
Born in Boston, MA on July 14th, 1938 to the late Anthony J. Piraino, Sr and Angela Piraino.
Tony was predeceased by his wife Muriel L. Piraino (Hickey), sister Marge Muir, Sister-in-law Marie Piraino, Brother in law Frank Ganat, special friends Bear Riley, Martha Baker and Bob Bowen.
He is survived by his adoring daughters Leslie Schrafft (Piraino), Lauren Piraino, son-in-law Stephen Zahar, grandchildren Kyle Schrafft, Cameron Schrafft, Colin Schrafft, Anthony J. Zahar, Amanda Meuse and great grandchild Noah Meuse.
He is also survived by his beloved brother Paul Piraino, sister Grace Ganat, many adored nieces and nephews, special cousins and cherished lifelong friends; Saul and Jane Gliserman, Gerry Baker, Paul Wennick, John and Diane Muccino,and Vinnie DiGangi.
Tony was a proud graduate of Boston Latin and UMass Amherst. He was a founding member of UMass Friends of Football amongst other charities. His passion for football and golf continued but his greatest joys were the friendships he maintained.
He lived a most extraordinary life building multiple businesses that took him around the world. He was a gentle giant who made a lasting impression on anyone he met. His generosity, love of family compassion and kindness was a gift to all. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved with all his heart and was incredibly proud of his family.
The world was a better place with him in it. We were blessed to have him. He will be deeply missed.
