He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Mary Alice Gates, Fannie Mae Cameron, Luke Stargill and William Asvery Cameron "Buddy"; his aunts and uncles, Dorothy Small, Vertis Little, Jimmy Cameron, Charlie Little and William Cameron; and his cousin Christi Godfrey.

He is survived by : his parents, Jerome Gates (Sylvia) and Mary Juanita Gates; his wife Tiffany Gates of LaGrange, GA; his children, Lovell Barnes, Amirah Gates and Ailani Gates; his godchild Jazea Lyles; his parents-in-law, Sharon Polnitz and Timothy London; and his siblings, Angela, Chantal, Renardo Hardnett, Quinton Cameron, Demetrius Gates and Marcus Gates. He is also survived by nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 28th 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241).
