Anthony's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Anthony Williams Garde, 74, of San Lorenzo, CA, on October 29, 2024. Born on October 16, 1950, to Jose and Lydia Garde, Anthony was the youngest son in a large family of ten children. He immigrated to the United States from the Philippines in 1970 and settled in Daly City, CA.
After working various jobs throughout the city, Anthony embarked on a long and fulfilling career with United Airlines, where he served as a mechanic in airplane maintenance for over 30 years.
In 1976, Anthony met the love of his life, Vivian, at a dance hall in the Peninsula where he was working at the front ticket counter. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Antoinette, Adrian, Angelica, and Allan. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, particularly horse racing, and was an owner to several racehorses in the late 80s and early 90s. He was very fond of animals, especially dogs, and was an avid music lover, frequently attending concerts in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 70s. He also had a long time interest in European cars, especially Mercedes-Benz.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian and their four children and seven grandchildren: daughter, Antoinette and her husband David, their children, Davae, Devin and Amara; their son, Adrian; daughter Angelica and her husband, Brian; and youngest son, Allan and his wife, Minyon and their children: Anez, Ajani, Triston, and Beverly.
Anthony's warmth, laughter, and dedication to his family and friends will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to several non-profits in Anthony's honor: American Diabetes Association, Muttville, a San Francisco based non-profit, specializing in senior dog fostering and adoptions and Sunrise Horse Rescue, a non-profit based in St. Helena focused on care for abused, neglected and slaughter-bound horses
