Anthony dabbled in a host of things as he maneuvered this life. He was a bus driver with New Orleans Public Schools for over 30 years, but he was forced to retire from that profession after his first stroke in 1999. Before being a bus driver, our dad worked at The Boston Club, as a mechanic at Sears, and as a long shoreman. His interests were simple also. He loved what he loved – Blackjack, poker, basketball, and all other sports. Anthony was an avid sports enthusiast. He watched all sports. In fact, he was a basketball player at Carver High School. However, when an injury caused irreparable damage, he rehabbed enough to join the Over-the-Hill basketball club in New Orleans to continue playing what he loved. To continue his sport, he taught Darlene how to play basketball.
