Tony was born on October 26, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas to Dennis (Hap) and Myrellen (Chick) Arnold. During Tony’s childhood, he lived in New Braunfels, Texas and later in Conroe, Texas. Tony graduated from Conroe High School and then from Texas A&M University. After graduation, Tony worked for the Department of Public Safety in Austin, Texas as a Forensic Chemist. It was there that he met Edie Niedenthal. Tony and Edie married on February 10, 1984. Both worked for Texas DPS, then moved to Houston where Tony was a Forensic Chemist for the Harris County Medical Examiner. After Tony’s time in Houston, he and Edie moved back to Austin where he served with the Austin Police Department as a Forensic Chemist until his retirement in 2014. During his life and in retirement, Tony enjoyed playing live music in several bands on the piano. A few of Tony’s favorite hobbies were fishing, bowling in the senior league and traveling with Edie. Tony and Edie later moved to Arlington, Texas to be closer to family. Tony and Edie found great worth in giving their time to Meals on Wheels in both Austin and Arlington.
Tony was a life-long learner and always found ways to spend time with the people he loved, especially his family. He was a member of the Austin Police Department Bass Club, and a member of bands such as the Bootstrap Band, Sterling Country, and Aurora Bleu. He loved attending Bible Study at FBCA on Wednesday afternoons and appreciated the Cancer Support Group at the church as well.
