Annette Norlander (Langer, O’Brien) passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025 in River Falls, WI. She had been battling her health for many years, but most especially the past year. She was born on January 1, 1958 along with her twin brother Al to her parents, Lloyd and Mary Langer. She grew up in Ellsworth, WI on the family farm with many brothers and sisters. She was a mother of 3 children and grandma to 3 grandchildren who she loved fiercely and with all her heart. She did daycare (Nettie’s Nest Family Daycare) for many, many years and loved it! She loved watching the birds, playing cards & cribbage, cooking for her family (especially the best soups!), bi-weekly family dinners on Sat. nights, yearly Christmas cookie making day and spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. She was sweet, sassy, opinionated, and funny. She is survived by her brothers Allen(Michelle) Langer, Jerry Langer, Greg(Nancy) Langer, Robert(Linda) Langer, and Scott(Barb) Langer; her sister, Sue(Steve) Ferkingstad; her children Valerie O’Brien, Nathan(Amanda) O’Brien, and Trever(Lyndsey) O’Brien; her grandchildren (by her son, Nate) Addison Smith-O’Brien, Briella and Chloe O’Brien; her ex-husbands Douglas O’Brien and Jeffrey Norlander; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Langer; her mother, Mary Brunner (Ortwerth, Langer); her step-father Calvin Brunner; her sister, Rita(David) Mountain and some family and friends. Family and friends of Annette are invited to a celebration of her life on May 11, 2025 (Mother’s Day) at the Glen Park Pavilion in River Falls, WI from 4-7pm.
